➤ In the world exists "Specials", people who are born with talents beyond that of normal humans. These talents can range from the exceptional but fairly realistic to the somewhat mythical to the outright absurd and magical. While every person has one main special, it's entirely possible for them to have alternate, less-powerful specials. The higher rank you go, the more likely multiple specials manifest.
➤ "N-Rank" (Normal) Specials are things like the ability to solve any math problem, the ability to keep one's balance no matter the situation, and the ability to speak any language after hearing it once. "A-Rank" (Abnormal) Specials are things like the ability to control or speak with animals, the ability to replicate any move after seeing it once, and the ability to convince someone to do what the person wants even at minor personal harm. "M-Rank" (Mystical) Specials are things like the ability to control and manifest fire, the ability to mentally control people, the ability to shapeshift, and the ability to cause earthquakes. A- and M-Rank Specials often (but not always) come with an inhuman mutation, like animal ears, tails, wings, scales, and the like.
➤ Specials, when identified, are enrolled in a special school (THESCHOOL) off the coast of Ireland funded by multiple governments. It isn't a forced situation; while the children have to enroll for their and others' safety, they can go home each day or on the weekends (depending on distance) if they please. Parents can also move to the coastal town where the island's dock is if they prefer, and regardless of anything else, the children are given personal phones and allowed to send letters/calls as they please. There are dorms on the island for those who were either abandoned by their parents or don't wish to go home. The school operates year-round (including meals), though classes only occur from March to September, with half-days in June and July to account for the summer. School days are also only half the week: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with the students having Saturday, Sunday, and Monday to themselves. A ferry also takes the students into the coastal town every weekend, running on the morning and evening of Saturday and Sunday. Students are required to be back at school by Monday morning regardless.
➤ THESCHOOL offers jobs and tests the students can do on their off time to earn money. The jobs are typical maintenance and upkeep jobs, from cleaning the school buildings to working in the cafeteria, while the tests are more to test their unique ability for records. While some of the tests are painful, everyone is warned ahead of time and the scientists do their best to make it tolerable.

➤ BIRTH STORY PARENTS FAMILY WHATEVES
➤ Shin's blood type is O- and he's 5'6".
➤ Shin's main special is the ability to go into an advanced state of himself, known as a hyper mode. The mode is named "Morrigan Mode" after The Morrigan of Irish mythology, especially as he can manifest crow-like talons (on his lower legs). His eyes glow bright silver/white and his hair turns purple when he shifts into Morrigan Mode, and his voice becomes louder and somewhat harsh (like a crow's caw). In this mode, his parameters ("stats") are all boosted to immense heights, meaning that he's far stronger, far faster, has far more endurance, and can take more damage in it. On top of this, his blood clots a lot faster (making bleed-outs difficult) and he no longer feels any sort of pain. There are a few major downsides to this, however:➤ The form is incredibly costly, energy-wise. While he's nearly unstoppable in it, once it drops, his normal body's energy is consumed. This can leave him either very tired, outright exhausted, or in a few extreme cases, force him to pass out the moment he releases it.
➤ While he can recognize friend and foe easily, he can't stop in this form. He must always be doing something active, or he'll go insane, and restraining him in this form is likely to make him hurt himself struggling against the bonds.
➤ It's difficult to shift out of it if he's been in it for longer than a few minutes (10-20). Luckily, anyone he cares about can bring him out of it pretty easily, though the longer he's been in it, the harder it becomes.
➤ He's still not fully in control of it at times, which has led to a lot of work on trying to figure it out (from those like NoName) as well as issues whenever he's lost himself a bit.
➤ As a "sub" special, Shin is very attractive to crows and can understand them well. Because of that, he often takes care of them and the crows around the island are rarely problematic; in fact, thanks to him, an entire small area has been set up for the crows to bring shiny things they find and trade them for food. He's even taught them how to trade money for pastries, in case a student doesn't have anything but a few dollars on them.
➤ He can also manifest bullets of energy around him to fling around like projectiles, but most everyone in the school can do that/is taught how to do that, so it isn't counted as a specific power from him.
➤ Shin is very, very gay, and has no interest in women at all; physically, their bodies look nothing different from doll bodies to him. He sometimes tries not to acknowledge it, though Kyousuke's adoration and clinginess to him -- and his own clear affection towards Kyousuke -- makes it more of an open secret at best.

➤ Shin tends to talk pretty calmly and normally; he doesn't have a formal accent, nor does he talk like a delinquent. He just talks like you'd expect an average guy to talk. He is, however, somewhat of a potty mouth at times.
➤ He tends to idle if he doesn't have something interesting to him around, to the point he can be found just sitting and staring out a window or watching the clouds go by outside if he's finished his hobbies and work. He doesn't mind helping other people out when asked, though, and tends to offer up his assistance pretty freely.
➤ He can be very cold to people he doesn't like, however, and only barely tolerates them with icy politeness. He also won't help them unless a teacher or someone he actually likes requests it.
➤ He can be somewhat insecure about more intimate things like feelings for each other and sexual situations. It's one reason why he tends to come off so harsh; he says the first thing he thinks, which is often joking or hyperbole, but since he's good at heart he doesn't actually mean what he says. He's the type to say he'll leave a teacher stranded on top of a mountain even while looking up the directions on how to get there to help them out. It isn't a tough guy mask or anything; that really is just how he is, sometimes saying "harsh" things about people he cares about, not meaning it, and planning on ways to help anyway.
➤ People who actually get to know him pick up on this fast, which is how they can read him so easily.
➤ When with someone he likes, he smiles a lot and gets really into things, even if he's not interested.
➤ He doesn't like sweets much, but he doesn't mind them. He'd prefer something else, but he'll accept them, especially on days where candy is traditional (like Valentine's Day), and he has no troubles eating them. It's just not something he'd chose very often for himself.
➤ Shin really likes his senpai, Kyousuke; however, Kyousuke comes on strong and is almost irritatingly persistent, which means he can often display frustration to him as likely as affection.
➤ He's insecure about his status as a Special, especially since it's come with the grown wings on his end. He knows he can never be normal or have a normal job without judgement or people harassing him, and it makes him frustrated, sad, and angry if he thinks too much of it. It's not even so much that he wants that kind of life as he doesn't have the option of that kind of life if he ends up wanting it.
➤ This makes him somewhat reluctant to attend normal classes, because he feels they're pointless, since he thinks his only prospect is as a fighter or something exploiting his powers. It's not that he doesn't want to learn -- and in fact, Shin loves to learn -- but his frustrations and insecurity make it difficult to really commit. This means that sometimes he'll go to class without any issue at all and be a perfect student... and sometimes it'll be like pulling teeth to stop him from ditching.
